@ Co-Founder, Effective Altruism Movement
Before turning 30, Will MacAskill has both become the world’s youngest tenured philosophy professor and co-founded the Effective Altruism movement. This included founding the non-profit Giving What We Can, which encourages members to pledge 10% of their income to the most effective charities, and which has already amassed $700 million in pledges. MacAskill also founded 80,000 Hours, a Y Combinator backed career consultancy giving advice on high impact careers. He has promised to donate all his earnings above £20,000 to whichever organisations he believes will do the most good.
